I am very much an active participant, it just that I signed up to ask a question then just read the archives for ages. Then all of a sudden I have a post count of 0.3 and I think “ARGHHH!”.
“Oh yeah, noturnal_tick…yeah now I remember…he’s the nad waxer, eh?”
Thanks for the vision!
Is increase in posting due to paying to post here? Certainly gave me incentive to spend some more time here. That and I’m obsessive and well if I’m goingh to be obsessive with something, it should have some modicum of productivity.
I probably ought to use this approach more often (or maybe exclusively), but I figure the world needs slack-jawed onlookers too.
Seriously, though, everybody has something to contribute. You have an area of expertise, and a unique perspective on that area, that’s going to be valuable to somebody looking for a little help. You might not be able to put your finger on it just now, but one day you’ll be reading a thread or something and say to yourself “Well, hat’s just wrong.” and post a correction. That’s what happened to me, anyway.
This is my take on letters to the editor, especially in regards GBLT issues. There are so many clueless people who spout their ignorance in very vile ways. I offer a viewpoint that, at least IMHO, has some sense to it. I guess my favorite ignorance fighting is when religion gets involves. Yes, I can quote biblical references and then put quite a different spin on them. All I am trying to do is make the more intelligent and self-thinking people to say “Hmmm, I never thought of it that way.” It’s those people who are going to make the difference.
