I think from now on i’ll stay well away from great debates, its so blood thirsty. People take criticisms as personal attacks and every great debate veers away from the OP into a mess. I’ll stick with Café Society from now on methinks…

be sure to visit us here in MPSIMS every now and again though - we don’t bite.

thanks, i hope i don’t antagonise any of ye!
If Great Debates is too nasty for you, then stay away from the Pit.
Man, I wouldn’t dream of going into a Great Debates-type forum that was in french (a language that I’m not familiar with). I realize that you’re much more proficient in English than I am in French, but I think the concept stands. I’m sure you’re capable of a strong argument, but since English is not a strong language for you, you’re going to get shredded in there!
Great Debates relies very heavily on clear communication, and can sometimes be clogged up with issues of semantics.
I’d echo garius’ comments - stick with MPSIMS! And welcome to the board - it’s great to get more international flavor around here.
I like the Pit better - I have pretty strong opinions, and I tend to get upset in Great Debates - I can dish it out but not take it. The best thing about the Pit is dopers gathering together to kick someone when they’re down. I kick hard, then run to Cafe Society, looking for a Maryanne vs. Ginger thread…
Munch, what are you talking about??? English is my first language! unless you were being sarcastic, it is so hard to tell around here. If you aren’t being sarcastic what made you lack my proficiency in english?
