I'm not going to get to vote.

And neither is Mr. Rilch.

We’re still in Pittsburgh, so absentee ballot is our only option. “Greg”, the friend who has been collecting our mail, duly sent us our sample ballots as soon as they arrived. We filled out the requests for absentee ballots and sent them off, specifying that they were to be sent to this address.

They’re still not here. And they didn’t go to the LA address either, because we asked Greg and as of 10/30, they had not arrived. In order for our votes to be counted, they would have had to be postmarked by midnight on the 30th.

So much for that.

(Although Mr. Rilch points out that our votes would cancel each other out anyway, plus which, Kerry is almost certain to take California; the Dems always do. But still.)

Hold the phone: the ballots are here.

Good! I was about to get ticked off for you!

That’s good. I really hope everyone who registered to vote and should legally be able to do so can.

Ava

In fact, eat a vacation or personal day, skip work, and drive people to the polls. Lots of folks who want to vote have a hard time b/c they can’t find sitters, don’t have cars, etc.

I hope it’ll still count, though. It says, “Suggest mailing no later than Friday, October 30”.

I know it’s a lot, but is there an overnight address on it? Can you FedEx it in? Or if it’s a PO Box, send it via Mail Overnight?

Ava

Considering that Friday was October 29, I think you’re okay.

:smack: They did say the 29th.

Oh, and Ava, I think I will do that.

LA is Louisiana? Per this site it has to be there Monday. But hey, look on the bright side, you’ll get another chance with the Senate run-off election!

No, Los Angeles, California.
