My kid had a Webkinz. We registered it today and, despite having watched the talking bird describe the steps, can’t get it to place any furniture. He is indoors and we’re just trying to place the chair and basketball but the floor doesn’t turn green when we drag the objects over it. Any clues how I’m managing to fail at something designed for six year olds?
For the record, we go to the interior room, hit edit, and try to drag things. I’ve messed with the various buttons, watched the tutorial and read the online FAQ but they all just say “Drag the item…” and that ain’t cutting it for me.
Is the furniture in your dock now?
No idea, sorry, but there is a forum.

Oy.
Anyway, somebody out there on the Internet ought to know something.
I consulted the family Webkinz’s expert, my daughter.
She says:
Ensure it is in your inventory
Click on Edit at the top left
Click the Object you wish to place
Click the Move button
Then left click and hold moving the object and it should turn the square green if the square is free.
I was unaware of a “Move” button. It’ll have to wait until tomorrow but that’s a good starting point
I think you might be trying to drag an object already in the room from one spot to another. If that’s the case, you can’t.
The object must be in your dock. You can click on it and drag it to the room, then (as What Exit suggests) the valid placements for the object will turn green. Release the mouse and wait a moment, and then the object will appear.
Once an object is in the room, the only thing you can do is “Remove,” which will return it to your dock, or rotate it to face a different direction (by using one of the two arrows that appear when you click on it in Edit mode).
There are occasional rendering glitches that surface when one object is supposed to be on top of another one. Bricker Jr. has a kitchen set up in his Webkinz mansion (ten pets and counting!!) and the Blender sometimes is drawn morphed into the countertop that it’s supposed to be on. We have found that leaving and re-entering the room usually restores the laws of Kinzphysics.
By the way – if you need any recipes, just ask. He just solved Berribrite Blast.
