I'm on day 5(?) of a head cold

I don’t understand the common headcold; my body feels fine, but my head feels like it’s going to explode.

And what’s with the small tickle in my throat?!

I feel like someone could hack my head off at the torso and say “healthy body, sick head”. That’s a bad visual, but you get the idea.

I think I hate it so much because I am in bed, head feeling sick but rest of me feeling great. I usually go to the gym every morning and feel like I still could, but have been avoiding it so I don’t spread my germs around.

I hope there is not a day 6 of this.

I’m on my third or fourth sinus infection for the year. Can’t remember. And they last so long I can’t tell if it’s a new one or just the old one acting up. We are talking weeks.

Three times I’ve gone to the doctor for a freaking HEAD COLD. Three times they have given me Azithromiacin (sp).

I feel fine other wise.

I’ve never had that and never want to.

The tickle in my throat that causes my cough is really pissing me off. That, and the way things smell different from my chaffed nose.

Actually, my chaffed nose is enough to make me never want to feel this again.

A cold will cure itself-eventually.
Some come and go quickly. Others hang around and can leave a cough for weeks.

Don’t let the cold add to your woes. Years ago I took Contac Cold pills for cold symptoms because I was working and could not afford to be sniffing all day. I must have blown something in my sinus area and the impaction lasted for weeks.

In more recent years I started taking vitamin C to shorten colds and prevent them because of a kid bringing everything home from school. The vitamin C did seem to allow me to bypass a number of colds and shorten some that I had. During peak times with a cold, I would take ad much as 10-12G of C per day. I never seemed to have and negative reaction to this level. When the cold danger was passed, I would bump down to a gram/day. I did this for a couple years successfully without a cold. Then I started to have abdominal pain. I could never link it to anything. I stopped the C just as a precaution. Then the evening news had a segment where they pointed out a link between taking high doses of C and Crohn’s disease and even cancer. My abdominal pain seems to be stopping now without the C.

So live with the cold and don’t do anything stupid like I did.
