Aha, thanks for the info!
I wonder where the break really was, and if it made someone look worse than (s)he deserved.

Congratulations BethCro and welcome to The Club. A bit of tough luck going up against Fred who appeared to very good, or at least in the groove with the buzzer. I could never really figure out the buzzer.
Hope you had fun on the program, and at least enjoyed the experience.
Just watched it on the DVR; you looked great and had total poise. And I love your accent.
Good on ya, Beth.
Your user name would suggest otherwise.
I was at work. There are TVs on here and there but I rarely have enough time to catch more than one or two Jeopardy questions, really. What I did hear, though, was your story about being caught in the revolving door.
Considering I get only a minute or two that I might catch the show I get annoyed when I hear the personal stories part, but in retrospect I’m glad I caught that part.
I didn’t see any of the rest of it, so sorry I can’t make comment on the rest of your performance, but SO COOL you were on!
@#$%^&*
I forgot to watch, and didn’t have the TV set to record. Sorry I missed your appearance!
We had a school board meeting so I had to decide what was more important; a fellow doper on Jeopardy or storming the castle.
We stormed the castle and flung poo.
I missed most of Double Jeopardy because I got a phone call %$#@&% – so if someone finds out where we can catch it online, please post. Congratulations!
When I went out to L.A. to play in 1991, I simply hoped I wouldn’t make a complete fool of myself on national TV. I won one show, but I might have gone further if I’d had the presence of mind to modify my buzzer handling in the second show. I had heard that using your thumb in the standard downward stabbing motion wasn’t necessarily the fastest method. So I held my arms down, crossed in front of me.
But the other contestants on the second show were very quick on the buzzer, and I wasn’t getting in. I should have at least tried something different, because I knew quite a few of the clues they got. I got fewer wrong answers on the second show than I did on the first. But fewer right answers, too, because I didn’t buzz in fast enough.
But I had a great time, anyway. The other contestants were all very nice, and the show’s staffers were great. I’ll always remember the sound man who said, “If you don’t know the Final Jeopardy answer, go for funny.”
To my surprise, I found out a few months ago that both of my shows are on the Web:
These are from the tapes I recorded off-air at the time. I provided a DVD copy of them to the owner of the J-Archive Web site, who either posted them himself, or released them to someone who did.
An update: the player BethCro lost against, lost today(3/30/09) after being a 3 day champion. Since I haven’t yet, congratulations on making the show.
I’m always a few days behind on my Jeopardy watching, so I just watched it this morning. Nicely done, Beth. Too bad [del]Dwight Schrute[/del] Fred was such a house of fire. Ah well…glad you enojoyed it nonetheless!
Hal, I’ve just spat gin and tonic on the keyboard thanks to you. I couldn’t quite come up with who Fred reminded me of, but you may well have nailed it.
Forgot to come back to this thread. I read it at 6:59 p.m. the day of the show. Jeopardy comes on at 7:00, so I made my way to the living room and actually watched.
Just wanted to echo what everyone else said. You looked calm, cool, and professional, no matter how you felt inside. And, yes, Fred was very tough competition.
Nice to see a Doper on the show! Congratulations!
