Okay, UnkaBeer bailed for a while, but Assembled Dopers assumed he was either at a DopeFest or in rehab. (And we trashed his green couch, car, home…umphh.)

No, no nooo … I’m not taking a vacation from the board, but from my real-life job. In fact, now that I have a lot of spare time on my hands, I’ll be able to keep an eye on things here closer than ever!
As far as UncleBeer goes, the last I saw of him he was wandering the neighbourhood saying “Haaaa-loooooo bootiful laaaaay-deeee” to anyone who would listen.
Lastly, for anyone who was concerned, they decided that my son’s hernia wasn’t that critical, but they still want to take care of it. Surgery is slated for October 16th. He’s only 4, so keep him in your happy thoughts.
Eutychus, I hope your son gets through everything okay.
Remember, you’ve EARNED this vacation. It’s not a special treat that your boss gave you. No guilt, no checking work email or messages, no thinking about or dealing with work whatsoever. Got it?
