And don’t take it so hard! What, you never lost before, never had to listen to people gloat? Goes around, comes around. Today’s pig, tomorrow’s bacon.
 Not that shit again . . .
It also strains credulity that the scammers would use a phone number easily linked to the Walker campaign, assuming the scam was actually pulled off by someone connected to Walker.
Let’s think this through. Democrats hijack the Republican number to scam Democrats into thinking that they shouldn’t show up to the polls, therefore letting the Republican win, just to embarass Republicans.
Why, it’s… it’s… diabolical, I tells ya!
I see what you did there. ![]()
I think we’ve seen this before.
“Obama and the Democrats are part of a vast conspiracy to take away your guns, outlaw religion and institute a one-world government!”
“Yeah, but none of that is happening.”
“That’s only because they’re so incompetent!”
You can’t fix stupid.
No, you can’t. But you can fix ignorant.
Yes, that shit again. There are far too many of you, and you are collectively a pox upon the body politic.
I appreciate the work that some of you do. In my business, you are but a necessary evil and why do I have attorneys? To protect me from shady attorneys. Fuck that.
Tell you what, you guys rein in your ambulance chasers, and advocate for tort reform and take a stand against the proliferation of the ‘litigious society’ and I’ll start to rethink my opinion.
Most of you are merely fueling the need for the continued existence of your own profession.
What have you created? What value have you personally brought to our society as the output of your professional life?
Not here, apparently.
And Rand Rover, nice classic lawyer trick. Ignore the fact that I state in my premise that I refuse to present arguments, because the data is there, and in fact in the prior post I laid out the definitive relationship amongst the facts. That is a prime example of <spits> fucking lawyering.
You’re a prime example of the useless blowhard attorney who bottom feeds off the labor of hard working citizens. You’re a fucking objectivist tax attorney for christ’s sake. You’re not worth the shit on the bottom of my shoe.
My professional efforts this year placed educational opportunities and tools in the hands of over 200 underprivileged children, and enabled the earmarked donation of over $25k in equipment to school districts whose funding has been slashed as a result of the policies you espouse. In addition, I have donated an average of 40 hrs a month for the past 4 years to create opportunities for underprivileged children to engage in creative activities that make a real difference in their future prospects for positive societal engagement.
What did you do? Donate some money to further your agenda of making more money?
Didn’t say it was easy.
“Fighting ignorance since 1973. It’s taking longer than we thought.”
“tort reform” is code for “please don’t make corporations take responsibility for the harm they cause.”. Trial lawyers make the world a safer place and help victims achieve some compensation for their injuries. You got a problem with that? Who would you call if a truck ran into you or your insurance company denied your valid claim?
Ghostbusters.
OK, assuming you’re not dead. Then what?
One would hope that in an society where tort reform has been enabled, sanity has also prevailed in controls upon corporate behavior, including meaningful regulatory and severe punitive damages awarded by statute in the event of liability on the part of the corporation or individual.
It’s not hard. Take money out of the equation. De-incentivize avarice. If someone is liable for damage to me and mine through negligence, carelessness or reckless behavior, they should be slammed to the wall, including prison time, extreme fines and other sanctions.
Of course, it falls apart in light of today’s corporate world. This is only the tip of the iceberg in the ways things are horribly wrong with our society.
But the answer is certainly not more lawyers, more corporations, more incentive to avarice.
 Don’t gimme nunna that “tort-reform” bullshit, asshole!
What do soldiers or police officers or firefighters “create”? Nothing but intangibles like public safety. And so do lawyers, and a great deal more than that. They protect the legal rights of people who need it – against private parties who harm them, or against the state, as the case may be. You don’t want to live in a society without them.
And anyone in this thread who claims not to believe the Walker side did what the OP is about is a goddamned motherfucking liar.
You know what’s particularly galling about this thread? It’s not that the Republicans cheated to win. It’s not that they’re so incredibly stupid that they believe that Democrats engineered their own loss. It’s that they lack the stones to own their own malfeasance.
Cheating to win is bad enough. Explaining it away is even worse. But to then turn around and balme it on those you cheated? That is seriously feckless, irresponsible, and ball-less.
Is there even one Republican in this thread who has the grapes to step up to the plate and say “Yeah, we cheated to win, and I own that”?
The Party of Personal Responsibility is not impressing me much right now.
I suppose you have some evidence that Republicans "cheated to win "?
