I'm sick. Someone come take care of me :(

My neighbor and I were spending a lot of time together this week, and yesterday BAM we both came down with a cold. I feel yucky :frowning:

So, someone come take care of me, and bring lots of yummy (vegetarian) soups and things.

Ryan, brings opal a warm blanket, gives her a cuddle and recants Catherine Cookson while feeding you Chicken soup.

Send me an E-mail with your adress and I’ll donate some Lemsip Max strength for you. If you want.

Oooh, I’m so sorry to hear that. :frowning: I’m feeling icky too, losing my voice. I hung out with an old friend & her 3 kids last Monday, and we all know how kids always have a runny nose.

If I wasn’t so far from VA, I’d run over with a crockpot full of vegetable soup! Lots of onions & garlic in it, too!

(((hugs & kitty cuddles))))

I’m sorry you’re sick. Just be kind to yourself and rest.

I can lend you my kitties to make you feel better if you need 'em!

I’m just getting over a nasty cold and my voice is still dodgy. Here’s a pot of nice, hot tea with lots of lemon, honey, and ginger (good for nausea), a duvet to wrap yourself up in, and a pair of nice fuzzy slippers. Oh yes, and a gallon jug of Nyquil.

CJ
By the way, I do think of you as one of the best and brightest of the SDMB.

Here’s a bag of DVDs and videos, all the latest and greatest, so you have something to watch while you’re getting better.

Uhhh, unless you actually wanted somebody to come and take care of you, in which case, dang.

Okay, okay, out of the way, I have experience with this.

Here is a nice hot toddy, and some homemade pea soup sans bacon. I’ve also brought Sven, who will give your tired feet a nice rub and do any housework that needs done. He can do the housework in a fire engine red Speedo and nothing else, if that will help perk you up.

cjhoworth, eek! Now I feel I have so much to live up to! Thank you very much.

Ryan: is that Morningstar Farms fake chicken in that soup? I have no idea what “Lemsip Max strength” is…?

I’m really looking forward to the arrivel of more kitties (4 just isn’t enough, when you’re sick) and especially of Sven.

Everyone who is bringing food, line up over here. Everyone with drugs, over there. Who has my slippers, again? And can someone fluff this pillow for me? Anyone? I need a fluffer…err…cough you know what I mean.

Here honey, I’ll share some of this organic minestrone soup my husband bought yesterday. It’s gooooood. Soothes my morning-sick tummy right up. I also brought a bunch of VCR tapes and magazines.

Will you share Sven with me? My tootsies could use a few rubs…

  1. Lie back relax, here’s a box of tissues
  2. Drink this nice hot glass of honeyed lemon juice.
  3. Hi Opal

Oh ick. I hate colds.

Congestions?

::tosses double pinches of coltsfoot, mullein, and scullcap into tea basket, adds tiny pinch cayenne pepper, brews brownish green tea, adds sourwood honey with a bit of the comb::

Sore throat, hurts to swallow?

::melts peppermint altoids in double shot of cheap scotch:: <-- this is not gonna taste nice but it works

Get some sleep.

Take a nice, long, warm (or hot, depending on how you like it) bath. Bring a good book with you, and maybe light some incense or use scented bubblebath, and maybe have a couple of your favorite chocolates next to you to nibble on (not too much though, you’ll make yourself sicker!), and a nice warm mug of tea/hot chocolate/whatever. Then dry yourself off with your best, fluffiest towel, and get into your comfiest/coziest pyjamas with warm socks and/or slippers and a fuzzy blanket wrapped around you, and either keep reading on the couch or climb into bed and have a good night’s sleep!

-mnem, who wishes the tub in her apartment was deep enough to sit in comfortably, and who is kind of cold right now, and is really tired and hoping for a good night’s sleep after 2 insomniac ones (and the semester’s barely started!). She did have a cup of tea though. Decaf. Even regular tea means no sleep for mnem!!

I hope you feel better soon!

Wow, Between you and XJetgirlX we’ve got a mini epidemic on our hands.

For you Opal, only the best (okay there isn’t any chicken in that soup!)

Obal, I’b sorry to knode that you have a code doo. <sniff>
By husband is the tibe who likes to take lock woks in the snow.

Bud I will singh ib you really wad me doo.

I’ve been under the weather too - left work early Wednesday and stayed home Thursday because I was feeling crappy. (Thank goodness I had Friday off anyway.)

Opal, here’s some pipe-weed, straight from the Southfarthing. (And it ain’t Old Toby, either. ;)) I guarantee it’ll make you forget all about your cold.

Since this is all strictly virtual (sigh!), Opal, please envision two Mensa Cabana Boys standing in front of you right now. They are Mensan men who are to obey the wishes of women, including bringing beverages upon command and washing hair. They are also required to specialize in massaging one body part and to be good at providing general massages. Since they’re Mensan, they also find intelligent women sexy, which means you would make the drool if they weren’t better trained. Yes, they’re real! What?! You think I joined Mensa for the bragging rights?! They can be summoned at RG’s by simply saying “Oh, cabana boy!”

  1. I put sheets on the couch (cushions and back) and fetched your favorite pillow.

  2. I made you some tea and toast and got you a giant glass of Sprite with a straw (be careful not to spill any on your neck/chest whilst trying to drink from a horizontal position (it’s cold as Hell!)

  3. Hello, Opal Darling!

  4. Be sure not to overdo the Nyquil. It’s loaded with Acetomiaphen (Tylenol) and will fry your liver if you take more than 800-1200mg. a day (Tylenol.)

  5. You can borrow by DVD and VHS collection: South Park videos, The Wedding Planner, Armageddon, Other People’s Money, With Honors, The EVil Dead Trilogy, John Cusac Movies, Scarface, Simpsons, Pulp Fiction, Wizard of Oz, What About Bob, The list goes on and on!

::peers into the monitor through a Nyquil haze:::

aww… you guys are so sweet
