For $19.95, you can request that a celebrity call you and wish you happy birthday.
Link.
Some of the celebs are definitely has-beens, like Todd Bridges and Lorenzo Lamas. But John de Lancie? The Barbi Twins?
How bad does it have to be for a star that they have to stoop to calling strangers to make money?
How humiliating.
Still, I wouldn’t mind Q calling me up and wishing me a Happy Birthday (hint hint) .
OMG! I gotta get Candyman to call my friend for his birthday!!! How messed up would that be???
Of course the site is blocked from my office, but I HAVE to check that out. My friends would totally love that!
Well, so far as the celebrity’s concerned, it’s got a lot going for it compared to appearing at some fan convention – Don’t have to get dressed or made up… No time wasted travelling to some God-forsaken expo center and eating concession food all day… If a fan gets too obnoxious, they can just hang up and claim to have been “cut off”… Seems like a win/win for all concerned.
And I have friends who’d love to get a call from John DeLancie or Tony Todd. I’ll have to check this out too.
[candyman]Hello, Steve? I am Rumor![/candyman]
I think the same thing about that StarDates show on E! They pay washed-up, has-been stars to go on blind dates with strangers and then film it for everyone to see. My LORD! My heart really goes out to these people!
Isn’t this what avatars are for?
Gasp! Tom Candiotti? Oh that’s too bad. He’s only been retired like 2 years.
(Actually my husband works with a friend of his…we could probably get a free phone call, heh.)
I think the definate ringer on the list is Rerun. Especially if the callee’s name is Roger. That’s GOLD, baby!
