Just got back from my primary physician. Had already scheduled a routine physical for today several months ago; fortunately, whatever this is subsided enough to go ahead with the physical as planned.
He believes I have a prostate infection, which would explain why some symptoms are intermittent. He’ll add another week of antibiotics if symptoms persist beyond the last dose on Sunday and if no surprises turn up in those cultures.
I lost at least 10 pounds during the 3 months between doctor visits and my A1C came down a bit. I’m surprised it came down at all, considering how screwy my blood sugar has been. I wonder how much lower it would have been without all this happening.
Still have yet to hear anything back from the hospital. I hope that means I don’t have anything really serious, unexpected, or seriously unexpected – like sepsis.
I’m glad for the positive update. Go you, Skywatcher.
When I had Lyme’s, they extended my antibiotic because it’s so hard to tell if it did the job because you get better so very gradually. This sounds similar.
I’m still having those intermittent symptoms. Might be the infection, might not…
I’ve had a bit of a setback. Slipped on the stairs on my way down to get the mail and went down the last flight on my butt. That’s gonna be sore in the morning; hell, it’s sore now!
That definitely counts as a setback. Been there too. I landed in the ER with a heckuva hematoma. I hope you are able to lie down, butt up. Prop up your hip on a pillow if you have to.
It’s actually my hip that’s the problem, just happens to be part of the hip that I sit on. I’m guessing there’s a pretty nasty bruise. This is the first time it’s let me sit up all day.
