There’s supposed to be a new episode on tonight, right now. They even aired the promos for it. However, they have the “Homer gets a computer” episode, playing, a repeat. Is it just my FOX station that’s screwing up, or are other people seeing the same episode I am?
The Fox affiliate in DC is showing the same “Homer Gets a Computer” episode. What’s more annoying is that it’s the same one they showed at 6:30. Where’s the new ep?
Nope. Seeing something about Lisa getting a new diary. I don’t know if it is a repeat since I seldom watch this show…
And now, 7 minutes in, the picture just blacked out, and it cut into the new episode currently in progress. (Gobear, we’re watching the same station)
I’m watching it in Oklahoma, and they showed the full episode here. I guess there may have been a problem with the east coast feed.
no, i got the whole thing just fine (i get the NYC feed). more importantly, did anyone notice the blatant mention of homer’s email address of chunkylove53@aol.com? does this have some significance at all?
I believe that was chunkylover53@aol.com. With an R.
The feed in Madison was fine (unlike for the pilot of Firefly, damn their black hearts). Overall a pretty decent episode, except for the glaring continuity gaffe of Homer’s taking a human cannonball to the gut, something which should have killed him instantly. Not a return to the glory days but not shameful either.
We got the new episode here in Philly.
The e-mail address was indeed chunkylover53@aol.com; Homer said it carefully several times. Anyone going to send an e-mail to Homer and tell us what happens?
Oh, and here we had the entire Lisa’s diary episode.
I’m on AOL, and sent an e-mail to that address asking if the diary was enough to patch things up with Lisa.
It’s a valid e-mail address…the AOL software lets you know right away if you’re trying to send an e-mail to a non-existent AOL address.
I’ll let you know what response I get, if any.
Oh dear god. This poor guy’s e-mail box is full. It has been two hours since the episode aired. Can you imagine the shame of being “the guy whose e-mail address was on ‘Simpsons’ last night”" Or the frustration of Chunkylover52@aol.com? “Damnit, SO close!!!”
All in all, not a bad episode. Not great either. How many times has Homer been shot in the arm anyway? (And how many times has there not been any blood? )
I’d guess that they set up the account for the purpose of airing that in the episode; they certainly had to know that people would start writing to it immediately, especially since Homer repeated it so carefully.
“Chunkylover53 at AOL. No, chunkylover, it’s all one word… 53, at AOL.”
“.com?”
“Yes. .com.”
Not bad episode. But it was no Frank Grimes.
You realize, of course, that you’ve all given your e-mail addy’s to Fox who can now spam the shit out of you? (Of course, this thought didn’t occur to me until after I sent one myself, damn it!)
We got the full diary episode here in Austin as well.
I liked it. Admitadely, I don’t get to watch the Simpsons all that much, but with so many people bitching about how the show seems to be sucking hard core all the time, I gotta say, I liked it. The concept seems kinda familiar (Homer trying to win the love of Lisa), but it was fun nonetheless.
“Can Lisa come out to play with her hands up?”
It was a good episode, and the use of pomade was great. King of the Hill was a complete episode as well.
Heh, I just got a bounceback! I’m safe from Fox spam! (Of course, this could all be a fiendish plot on the part of Fox to take down AOL, now that I think about it!)
“My favorite book is magazines.”
Not a bad episode. I did, however, get through to Homer’s email. No response as of yet.
My feed was screwed up, too, and I’m in D.C. Obviously the Fox affiliate here had some problems.
I thought it was a solid episode. Homer was silly, but not too dumb like he was a couple seasons ago. It’s nice to see more episodes focusing on the Simpson family, and not just the strange universe of Springfield.
WTTG screwed the pooch on this one. Someone apparently popped in the wrong tape. Luckily I recognized the ep and switched over to WBFF, the Baltimore affiliate, before missing much of the plot. Not half bad this week, no complaints here.
I emailed chunkylover53@aol.com too - and got a bounceback.
FTR:
There was an episode where
Homer repeatedly took a cannonball to the tummy. Season 7, episode 24 (#3F21) “Homerpalooza”. If that didn’t kill him, no reason why a human cannonball would.
Twiddle
That was a pretty good episode (especially compared to the last few seasons worth). The Tickle Me Krusty doll was hilarious! “I wonder what mommy’s medicine tastes like?” had me rolling on the floor.
But did it really need to lead to Homer fleeing arrest from Chief Wiggum for, what, the twentieth time?
