I'm watching the Simpsons right now...

This was easily the best Simpsons episode in a LOOONG time. However, a pox on FOX (hey that rhymes!) for putting that “JOE MILLIONAIRE” splash screen right in the middle of the episode!! I thoroughly hate those ads-in-shows that seem to be so commonplace nowadays, but this one took up nearly half the screen!!! (So I guess it was a blessing in disguise that I didn’t catch the show until 8:02 and didn’t have time to pop in a tape; in fact I’ll probably wait until J.Mill is done before taping the show again.)

Best line: “Children don’t remember bad birthdays, do they?”

I thought the “You’ve had 8 years to get to know me!” line was pretty funny, since they’ve been on for, what, 15 years now?

No answer yet.

Not only that, but when I check the status of the e-mail in the “sent mail” window, it indicates that my e-mail to that address hasn’t even been opened yet.

So, I received the followng this afternoon…

Dear Simpsons Fan:

I am so tired from answering so many emails… I hope I never get another email again.

– Homer Simpson

P.S. Please respond to this email.

Chunkylover53@aol.com still has not opened my e-mail.

Must probably be wading through thousands of e-mails before he gets to mine.

Homer’s got an AOL user’s profile too:

Eric

Hmmm…I checked that Mon. night, and they hadn’t put it up yet. A little slow there, Fox.

He’s appearantly replied to other people as well. Some have reported getting the same message that NWR got. He’s also sent the message:

Eric

Those all sound a little… forced. I think what we’re looking at here may be a “first mover” fan rather than someone from the show. Unless they put an AP in charge of it or something. Although they had to know that they’d get a huge response.

Can AOL users check to see when the person registered that profile?

There’s just so much potential in Homer’s AOL profile, I was salivating to read that and then was a little dissappointed.

Homer wrote back.

In the e-mail responding to my question of whether or not the Turbo Diary was enough to patch things up with Lisa, the response was:

This is either someone who agreed to have their e-mail address used in an episode, or a person who works for the staff producing The Simpsons.

When will the madness end?

Who is this really? Is it Lenny? It sounds like Lenny.

Hey Lenny, I’ll meet you at Moe’s later. Order me a keg and with a six-pack chaser.

Your best friend,

Homer

P.S. Don’t tell Carl I said we were best friends. I told Carl he was my best friend, but I was lying.

P.P.S. If this is Carl, please don’t read anything above this.
