Just because you mentioned “Boogeyman”, the other day for no particular reason I was singing Hot Chocolate’s “I Believe In Miracles” to myself, but for some reason changed the words to “You look like the Boogeyman”. Not that anybody cares, but I was pretty amused.
I have no information on Eek the Cat, so I will content myself with pinting out that you have fucked up the “Hi Opal!” joke. “Hi Opal!” is only used if your list consists of exactly two items. If you have three items independent of “Hi Opal!” then you don’t use “Hi Opal!”.
So I’m sitting in a restaurant doing lunch with five other coworkers yesterday when this very song comes on. I almost choked laughing so hard. I wasn’t about to even try to explain myself.
Wow, I thought Mrs. Fresh and I were the only two fans of this show left on earth. Twelve years after getting into it, we still quote it for laughs.
The girlfriend’s name was indeed Annabelle, but I don’t remember the Boogeyman episode. Was it because he liked to dance or because he had a runny nose?
I’m still waiting for the entire series on DVD, but I’m not holding my breath.
Yeah, IIRC The Boogey Man was a big flimflam-looking guy with a huge collar on a half-buttoned disco shirt & he wore the nastiest-looking polyester pants. The scene:
Knock Knock Knock Eek!: Who is it? Boogey Man: It’s The Boogey Man. E: Who? BM: The Boogie Man. I’ve come to get you. Eek!opens the door, The Boogie Man saunters in, spins around and looks at Eek! BM: Do you know why they call me The Boogey Man? E: Uh…no? BM: Because I …
At this point The Boogie Man starts disco dancing (very badly) and singing “I boogie boogie bogie boogie…” *
Eek! screams and runs off with The Boogie Man chasing after him. *
And from there my memory fades. Probably because I passed out from laughing!
And still, Bugs & Daffy get air time. The mind boggles.
