For reasons I can’t explain, the thread about black men drinking white wine made me think about this postcardI bought in a second-hand shop some 30-40 years ago.
The internet is full of WTF? pictures but this one pre-dates the webs and has always been a nice mystery to me.
What say y’all? Am I just easily amused?

I have seen the “Trumpets” image. I have it saved somewhere.
I believe that it depicts some kind of early technology meant to listen for enemy bombers or something like that.

I too love that post card. A thousand stories could be written from that image.
Very interesting. My initial inclination is to wonder if it’s not either a statement about or reflection of an anti war attitude. Young, beautiful talented woman with an alluring smile, plenty of room for a suitor but his presence is unquestionably absent.
