IMDB's new look

What do you think of IMDB’s new look? I’m still getting over the addition of those dinky little photographs next to actors’ names – change is bad!!

The design and layout still sucks, and it’s no less ugly than it was before.

First noticed it this morning. Like you, I’m adapting.

I’ve almost never seen a website style overhaul I liked.

I don’t like how they killed all of the cell borders.

So far I don’t like it, but it may grow on me.

Just a bump to say that after two weeks I’m used to it (in the sense I know where the buttons all are now), but I still don’t like the look. It looks unfinished, like there should be an “Under Construction – Coming Soon” sign hanging somewhere. Bah.

At first it was really weird but now I am used to it!

I don’t like it either but am resigned to the prospect that I’ll just have to deal.

I actually dont use it enough to notice the changes… so it all works for me

My thought exactly. If they’re gonna change, why not change for the better, huh?

Ugh, I can’t stand it. It really does look like they half-assed the design changes and are still debating what to do. Maybe I’m a stubborn grouch but my grandpappy always taught me that you “dont change horses in midstream.” I suppose I may get used to it eventually.

I didn’t like it at first (and still don’t because I hate change), but now I can’t remember what it looked like before.

I kept the former title and name page design. You can do it by clicking on - your account - personalize - site prefences - use formet title page and name design.

Brilliant! Thanks for the tip! Only thing I miss from the design is the scroll-over to rate movies, but I’ll forgo it to get rid of the awful new design. Thanks again.

I like the new design. My favorite part: more details in the “references to other films” section, so you can see how correct (or just plain wrong) the submitters were in their believed references.

This is why I’m on this message board! Well, this and many other reasons. I would have never thought to check that!

Thanks!

By the way, I hate the new design.

I hate the new design too, but I imagine that I’ll get used to it pretty quickly and soon forget what the old one looked like. I hated when the SDMB changed its design too, but now I never think about it.

It will take me quite a while to get used to. I find the fonts harder to read than before, and the hyperlinks harder to find because their color isn’t all that different from the regular font colors.

I remember thinking when it left AOL that it was finished.

What design change are you referring to?

The day IMDb changed over I couldn’t figure out where to click to get any of the information I was looking for. Eventually I found their little paragraph on why they changed, and they said it was to make it more intuitive, at which point I had a big WHAT THE %^&#?!! moment, because intuitive it is not.

I switched back to the old style, but it says you can only keep that temporarily. Eventually we’re all going to have to figure out this new, unfinished-looking mish-mash.
