I dislike this acronym. If the opinion of the poster were trully humble, then they would not use the acronym. In my opinion IMO works just fine. If you see me use IMHO, then you know I am being sacastic.
This is not a rant! I would like to know if I am missing something. Are there reasons for the use of this term?

IMHO implies “I humble myself before thee with my opinion”, and sounds less like you are looking down your nose at people when commenting.
IMO can be mistakenly read as “in MYYYYY opinion…” and can give the impression that the speaker is reading you the gospel according to him or her.
