Man, I dunno, I think the puns would kill me after a while.
As an animation buff, I’d like to live in the 1940s L.A. from Who Framed Roger Rabbit (preferably post-Judge Doom). I’d attempt to make diplomatic strides between the humans and the denizens of Toontown. If nothing else, it would be an interesting place to live.
I think Charles de Lint’s Newford would be nice. Running a used bookstore with a hob and a dog for companions AND meeting nice gypsy boys… I’d take it.
I’d probably want to live in MegaTokyo from the Bubblegum Crisis universe (original series). Sure, there are rampaging Boomers that tear up the place every so often, but the Knight Sabers always take care of them in short order. The real reason I want to live there is because computer hackers have nigh-unlimited power. In the real world, hackers can goof up someone’s website. In the BGC universe, even an average hacker can create a fake identity and a free bank account so they never actually have to get a job. If you’re the best of the best, you could even fire the orbital laser satellites at people! And best of all, I could just find Nene and ask her to teach me how to hack. (Before you ask, her hacking skills are not secret. Leon and Daley know she’s a master hacker, but not that she’s a Knight Saber.)
The Marvel Universe (especially if I got to have the right powers), at least as it was a few years ago (I can’t afford comics these days, so I don’t know how it is at the moment).
Parts of Middle-Earth.
Certain areas of pornworld.
I think I could be happy living on Deep Space 9 (though not during the Cardassian Occupation). I could find a place for myself in other areas of the Trek universe as well.
Dc universe I second.
Maybe briefly in Vice City as the main character.
Oh and what’s that city called that Alan Moore created? The one Smax came from? I can’t think of it, but I’d like to live there.
The Winds of Change universe.
Cassie the Rock Vixen universe.
The Ozy and Millie universe.
If I were about half my age, I’d go for Randall Garrett’s Angevin Empire. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that I’m a bit over the hill to be an Apprentice Sorcerer.
