Important news from my taxi driver this morning.

Hey, dese are some powerful drills.

Coast to Coast is my ultimate guilty pleasure. It’s like this surreal window into crazy and I just can’t look away, I even have a subscription so I can record the podcast and listen to it on my way to work.

Angelic unicorn guardians, ancient subterranean civilizations, government mind control via your refrigerator’s coolant compressor, you’ll learn all the news that THEY don’t want you to know. It’s like one of Grand Theft Auto’s joke radio shows but in real life.

I used to love closing my store (@ 11pm ET) because I could listen to Coast to Coast on the way home. George Noory is brilliant- no matter how nutso his guest is, he always manages to convey a sincere feeling of shock at whatever bizarre “revelation” they’re spouting.

It wasn’t always so harmless, though…

Your cab driver was Mink Stole?

Considering the state of inebriation of the average Siberian oil field worker, it’s also possible that the moaning arose due to drilling through his colleague’s feet.

My cousin with the fundie parents* told me this story in 1989. Scared the living shitlights out of me.

*Meaning they knew everything about God and heaven and hell and were incapable of lying or being wrong, in my 8 year old mind.

Really? I mean, I don’t know much about Islam, but I grew up in mainstream Christianity, and I was taught it’s a straight shot, no waiting. Luke 16:20-ish has the poor man Lazarus observing the sinful rich man in hell from his perch in heaven. They didn’t wait till the end of days.

I’m really curious - I wasn’t aware that this was a widely held view among Christians.

Kind of glad they filled that hole…can you imagine if they had made it bigger, allowing all those lawyers to climb out!

Are you saying my cab driver was not legitimately crazy and merely a John Waters plagiarist? I demand a refund!

Haven’t you ever browsed Snopes? It is informative, entertaining, and sometimes frightening.

Oh Snopes, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways…

Taxi Driver Wisdom.

One of those impulse book purchases I made before kids that I’ve never regretted. Even paid full price too.
