All toilet paper hung in a regular holder will hang down from the top of the roll, therefore being “up and over” regardless of the orientation of the roll. I therefore sagely suggest that a new terminology should be adopted for the ageless argument of which way the roll should go. These new terms are “in” for towards the wall, and “out” for away from the wall. “Out” is, of course, the proper way.

Feel free to argue over what terms to use for those giant rest stop rolls that hang parallel to the wall.

The bathrooms I use have at least 4 walls, so the roll is always facing “in” and “out” no matter it’s orientation.

I’m just grateful when I don’t have to contort myself to reach one of the huge rolls that are mounted below the grab bar. Half the time when you do that, you get bitten by the serrated edges used to tear the paper.

Actually, that was a TP spider bite. Not dangerous but painful. Some bathrooms don’t have them. Because the toilet snake eats them.
