TP Roll Poll! Which way does your toilet paper go?

A-From the backside?
B-Over the top?

Peek on the image and vote or abstain! Toilet humor optional, butt preferred.

Clearly over the top is the only way to go.

We’ve done this poll before, but more data is good, I guess.

Oh, and over.

The Correct Way.

First vote for backside, I guess. I don’t have any, but don’t people with cats say if they put it over the top all hell breaks loose?

One of the TP companies did a country-wide survey late last year. The results showed that only 15% of people are deviants who prefer the paper to come from the back. Cats are no excuse, why are they in there when you’re not?

For a horizontal-axis roll, hanging the loose end in front (“over the top”) is the most logical way to go, as it increases accessibility of the paper. However, hanging the end in front has the one large fault that if someone pulls down on the outside of the roll, the entire roll will unravel.

Therefore, if you expect something to grab the outside of the roll, for instance cats or toddlers, hang the end at the rear. Otherwise, hang it in front.

Vertical-axis holders are equally-vulnerable from all directions, so they don’t really count.

I just put it in there any old way. I don’t care or even notice which side is up.

16 - 1. Yet another proof that Dopers are smarter than the average bear.

I prefer over the top, because the tp holder roll is a bit far from the toilet and it’s closer and easier to grab that way. My roommate does it the wrong way and I have no idea why!

I say over the top, but really it’s off of the roll and out of the reach of the cat(s).

From the backside and how many times are we going to have this same question asked and answered?

Until you get it right, sir.

I have solved this issue by never putting the roll on hanger.

Yeah, pick a piece up off the floor, wipe, and throw it back on the floor again.

I neither know or care as long as it’s there.

I don’t pay attention to which way it’s on.

In the butt, Bob.

From the top, as all right-thinking people ought to know. Harrumph.

I have it right; the rest of you guys are still learning. Honestly, I don’t know why I do it the way I do but I’ve been doing it that was for a lot of years. I think I’ve just gotten stubborn about it. Maybe I’ll give the other way a try just to prove I’m not set in my ways.
