I just recognize that it is merely a matter of time until a TBC Pit thread spontaneously appears. In this thread TBC will say that people are against him because they’re intimidated and jealous of his research skills and because he’s conservative.
I’ve not the energy nor the inclination to explain to him how and why he’s not even wrong on multiple counts. I’ve limited myself to one such mercy case and he resides on another board.
I wonder what Ilsa’s doing.
To call his poorly begotten efforts an example of “such a good researcher for the Conservative side,” is to declare that the works of just about every last Conservative Doper there has ever been are worth less than shit stained sheets.
And so, it is resolved and be it known that I, SimonX, as a Conservative Doper break much fragrant wind in the general direction of The Broken Column. His efforts here, so far, are not worthy of either the effort not the odor, but I administer them both in a spirit of grace. I hope that I am wrong about our new found friend. Time will tell.
Yes, well, just to be clear I wish to state for the record that I’m against TBC because he’s a fucking idiot.
Actually, he has given me some good laughs, though. Like when he said that Bush had never gone back on anything he had “inacted”. Worthy of the The Man himself, that one.

Yes, ladies and gents, that’s right. In The_Broken_Column’s twisted, fucked-up bigoted little world, apparently blood running in the streets from civil war is a better position to take, than allowing two consenting adults of the same sex to officially commit their lives together.

Whenever I read a T_B_C self-trumpeting post, I think of this little gem of an article: Unskilled and Unaware of It.
Seems the less adept one is at an intellectual or social pursuit (say, just for example… on-line debating or persuasive writing), the less able one is to evaluate one’s own performance accurately. There is hope, however. By heeding pointed criticisms and gradually increasing his knowledge and skills in his various areas of weakness (logical reasoning, political science, tact & diplomacy, basic adult conversational skills, etc.), T_B_C could attain at some point a reasonable idea of just how damn silly he is.
And yet TBC has done what no other Conservative has been able to do. He has taught me that there are, by contrast, rational Conservative arguments. It is good to be reminded that most Conservatives are reserved – not feverishly desiring an excuse to kill in the name of the Lo-rrr-ddd.
Not to mention, he’s just not worth it. After fushj00mang, Kurdt Kobain, paulberserker, Never Have I Because I, county and Sonic1992, I’m just spent. No more pit threads full of my sharp wit and biting satire are to be wasted on these numbnuts.
It’s so hard to be me.
