In case you're tired of Jelly Blocks

Forward the link to Jelly Blocks (from this thread ) to a friend whose response was "Oh yeah? Try this!.

Hmm… this looks familiar.

'doh! :smack:

Well, it’s still a fun timewaster

Yeah, but only if you don’t particularly enjoy your sanity.

Graaah!! Addictive!

this game is much better IMHO
thanks, mama!

Jelly Blocks is boring.
Bloxorz is fun.

Thanks a lot! I hadn’t see this one yet.

So, how many of these addictive little stages are there??

I’m on 27 and I’m getting my butt whooped. Not in a good way! There is no pleasure here!

I can’t possibly start this one until I’m done with jelly blocks. How do solve level 100? Clueless here.

Does anyone else find the high-quality authentic sound effects for the block hitting different surfaces appealing?

For me, there’s something calming, or pleasant about it, that makes me crave the game. I know that probably sounds really weird, but the whole presentation of the Bloxorz game has a distinctly tactile (for lack of a better word) feel to it that I really love.

And yeah, I found it when someone tried to use it to distract people in order to win the “Call me threadkiller™” thread.

Have you gotten it yet??? I’m going to post on the other thread how I completed it. I did it a little differently from the others.

There’s even some small variation built into the sound effects, so even when the block stays on the same kind of surface, the program won’t play exactly the same sound file every time you move. I admire that kind of fanatical attention to detail.

Here are a few other games to try, for when you get tired of Bloxxorz and Jelly Blocks:

Why did I open this thread? Why did I open this thread?

I’m doomed. My business will go down the tubes, my family will be wearing dirty laundry, and my cats will starve if I keep getting side-tracked by these addictive time-wasters.

Oh that’s right, the cats won’t starve. They’ll just walk across the keyboard demanding to be fed.

Ugh-don’t like Bloxorz. but I finished the other game (jelly blocks). Yay!

ok so when I have the split blocks, I am supsedto hit the space bar to toggle to the other block? It doesn’t work. Is there something I am missing?

No, that should do it. When you hit the space bar, does a white bracket appear around one block?

I think Bloxorz is better designed than Jelly Blocks. In JB, too often you can solve a level just by randomly trying stuff, with no real idea of what you’re doing. Other times, the basic strategy of uniting blocks colour by colour will work. But with Bloxorz more thought, and more pruning, seems to have gone into the level design. The levels get harder more progressively, and even though there are fewer levels you get more of the satisfying feeling that you are learning and applying new techniques.

Finished! Can I go back to my life now?

Blargh! This is much harder than Jellyblocks!
