I did a search and didn’t see this game posted here before, so I thought to share and see your thoughts. It’s a basic bubble shooter (match three and they disappear). There is no gravity, meaning that bubbles can hang in the air without any support (though single bubbles do evaporate). Aiming is done entirely through a visible mouse pointer, which means I don’t have chalk marks all over my screen trying to line up the launcher with the target. New bubbles grow from existing ones every time you shoot but don’t eliminate a cluster. This is a nice touch, in that larger and larger clusters appear over time leading to mass eliminations. But it’s not that easy, as along with each bubble growing a friend, occasional random colors appear in different places. There challenge comes from solid un-removable bubbles that you have to shoot or grow around. There are a few other nuances that make it fun to play (e.g., missing everything and bouncing off the screen randomizes everything) but that’s the basics.
There are also a couple nice programming touches (for the user). It has options to change size (independent of browser controls), if you fail a level you don’t have to start from the very beginning — it lets you replay the level right away, and you can change the music and sound effects independently.
It was fairly straightforward up to about level twelve when the un-removables became more involved in the game. Also, right about level 19 it gets hard.
So, if you want to lose a few minutes to hours, take a look. If you find yourself easily addicted to these sorts of things, and have a penchant for bubble-style games, you may want to call in sick.
Heh… that’s a fun one too. Was hopelessly caught up in it for a while until I got distracted by Clusterz. Kind of like going from coke to heroin to methadone or something.
It’s fun but I don’t like how much luck seems to become involved after level 12. So often the difference between success and failure is just what color happens to be given to you on the first ball, and that’s not good game design.
Is it possible to clear the wheel? The best score I could put up was 300 and the leader board has people who kept going for 5 hours and scored 100,000+ points. I call shenanigans.
Yeah, but the closer you get the more frequently the new balls come flying in. Seems like a perpetual system that would prevent you from winning unless there’s some trick I’m missing.
I spent a few hours on 16 yesterday, and then got 17 and 18 on the first try this morning. I’ve played 19 a couple dozen times, and can’t figure it out.
