In defence of Russia

You posted the quote yesterday.

As long as you continue to defend war crimes, spread Russian propaganda and misinformation, and cite unreliable sources, people on this board will continue to criticize you and correct you. If you want “out”, stop doing it.

Being antiwar and acquainted with the facts regarding Russia’s invasion should mean that you support Russia’s withdrawal from Ukraine and paying an indemnity to cover the damage and loss of life it has caused.

Da?

This article is from RT. I searched to see if other more Western mainstream media had articles. But so far no.
So is it pro Russia or some propaganda to post it?

The article sticks pretty much to facts.

Does it relate to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine?

RT International is a Russian state-run propaganda network and nobody with any sense takes anything they say seriously, as five seconds of rudimentary googling would have told you. Jesus fucking Christ.

If there are issues with state security, it can have an effect on military issues. I suspect that Russia is having more problems in it’s security ranks, due to the attacks deep in it’s territory on dumps and such.
If security is having internal issues. It may be tightened up to the point where good flow of information is hindered. Fewer folks get the information that they need. Can circle around with some negative effects.

So the story is false?

Eat shit, sea lion.

Also. It seems at least as pertinent as the Darya Dugina event, if not more.

He was head of Kirovohrad region SSU. So not a region contacting the front lines. Pretty much in the middle of Ukraine. His actions may not have much consequence to the larger security corps. Still no speculations as to why he did it.

Fake stories about suicides have been spread by online pro-Russia operatives and by Russian media.

Why do you expect others to uncritically swallow Russian propaganda?

So the only citation is in a Russian government propaganda outlet?

Not saying it didn’t happen, but you’d think that the suicide of a Ukrainian official just might get some notice from actual news organisations.

There can be various reasons why a particular news outlet chooses when to release their report on an issue. I did find other sources, but no big name ones. I suppose that will change soon. How much prominence a source gives the story also varies.
No idea of the veracity of this outlet. But they note the police services submitted a report.

It does appear to be true. This story was linked from the Washington Post. The information is from the Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office.

I expect we’ll hear more eventually.

I do wonder how long such a huge expenditure of ammo can go on. I find it hard to believe that factories are keeping up with supply. Must be drawing down. Cannon being taken out, breaking down. Crews being lost. Even if you come in with more equipment and ammo initially, it drains. A war of attrition bites both ways. I can agree that Russia is now or will have to use less.

The guy may have done it for purely personal issues. No relation to his work. Or combination of things. May have no effect at all on the security corps. Being in the corps, his reasons may never be fully revealed. Even if they figure it out.

The RT people did make the implication that it likely was one result of the investigation and sacking of Ukrainians that were too friendly with the Russians. In that context one can say that this bit of news, while done in a spin that seemingly benefits Russia as it seems to point at dissent among Ukrainians, it shows to me that that Ukrainian that took his life was aware of evidence that was going to show that he was an asshole traitor.

Well, IMHO whatever advantage Russia had with that asset before is gone now.

Can’t remember what newspaper I got this from. They used the NASA fire map to estimate shelling in Ukraine.
I just tried it out. Seems plausible. You can go back in timeline too. I think I will bookmark that page.
Might be my setup that is slow, but looking through the timeline, the page updates verrrrryyyyy slowly.

And admittedly pro-Russian.
