Keep on cheerleading for them, comrade.

That is why I am asking if the concept is at all possible at the Dope. There is usually someone that has knowledge of a subject here. They may not know for sure, but often can ballpark it.
Dedovshchina dates back to the Soviet Red Army, to at least as far as 1967
Russia kidnaps children.
I’ll even throw a bone to our dear comrade, who frequently comes up with ‘solutions’ to problems that militaries have long since solved. See anti-radiation missiles, manufacturing grenades to be dropped by drones, etc. earlier in this thread.
First, there is a huge difference between breaching a minefield and clearing a minefield. Breaching, the process of clearing out a ‘safe’ lane in a minefield is what militaries trying to get through a minefield care about and can actually make clearing more difficult later on down the road as mines will be displaced by breaching. Breaching can be done by a number of methods, from explosive line charges to plows or flails attached to the front of tanks. Knowing precisely where an individual mine is located isn’t necessary or desirable, the goal is to clear out a safe lane through which forces can pass.
Clearing a minefield is what happens when the war is over, or at least when the active fighting has left a field far in the rear and the detritus of war is being cleaned up and it is possible to remove each individual mine.
Why do militaries do this you ask dear comrade? It’s because a minefield is only an obstacle if it is actively being covered by fires preventing the other side from simply going into it and clearing it without worrying about being shot at or shelled. Which is exactly why militaries cover minefields with fires. And why strapping a ground penetrating radar to a drone is pointless for either breaching or clearing a minefield.
Apparently someone thinks munitions designed for small to large drones is a good idea. The article mentions the deficiencies and dangers of makeshift stuff. They are doing some of the things I mentioned would be good.
Huh. Apparently Russia is using weapons that are widely banned across the world.
Who knew that Putin was such an evil prick?
…at his mirror, perhaps?
BTW, does anyone know the opposite of “polymath”?

Opposite of a highly intelligent person
What I am looking for is a word that specifically means “Incredibly unknowledgeable about a wide variety of subjects”
I’m gonna vote for “pinhead”
Oh, please don’t. We had a hard enough time getting through his last presidency.
Truly astounding comrade! You’ve discovered evidence to support the answer you were already given back in December that Ukraine had been 3D printing parts for factory manufactured anti-tank grenades specifically for use by drones since the beginning of the fucking war.
Your genius in identifying things militaries have already thought about years before you set your tiny mind to them remain as impressive as ever.
U.S. has supplied cluster HIMAR rounds to Ukraine and they are using them.
I enjoy seeing the lame abuse.
Especially interspersed with lame propaganda.
Of course, little in the way of informed answers to the original question.
Seems the other thread had a long discourse on the value of spotting mines by various means. How many of you commented on that?
I actually make a living and create actual things and methods with my polymath abilities. Been doing it for decades.
Personally, I think Kedikat is a Russian apologist. (Not that he’s Russian himself.) And yes, he consistently posts lame ideas and old news. But abusing him for every post seems excessive. I started this thread because there needed to be a thread for his (lame) excuses for Russia’s illegal invasion of a sovereign country. I’d rather see rebuttals to his pathetic defence of Russian policies and tactics, than simple ridicule of his out-of-date ideas.
Only… You’re the one posting lame propaganda.
Everybody on the planet except for two people?
My father was Ukrainian. Left Ukraine while it was Warsaw Pact. My last name is a very common Ukraine one. Regarding the Ukraine Russia war, I blame the U.S. most of all. When I see U.S. officials smiling while saying what a good deal this war is and money well spent inciting and continuing it I am horrified. They even spout off about jobs and profits being made!
The U.S. and a few of its toadies will fight to the last Ukrainian. Some fools will send their own troops in to also die and continue the death as long as possible. To probably no good end to anyone. I think it will in many ways end up as it was about 20 years ago. But sadly with a smaller Ukraine. And so many wasted lives.
