I have a hybrid car.
I walk to work.
I recycle food waste, garden cuttings, plastics, metal, paper and glass (as required by my local council).
I shop at an old-school greengrocers to avoid single use plastic waste.
I carry a metal water bottle with me.
I try to buy local groceries generally to avoid food miles.
I grow herbs and salad stuff.
I don’t have children and their cheap plastic toys.
What I do is mostly counter balanced by other life choices I have made.
I try to reduce consumption as much as possible. No replacing electronics and appliances while they are still working reliably.
I rarely eat meat and try to be conscious of the environmental impact of the vegetables I choose.
I try to avoid flying as much as possible.

But I moved to the US from Norway. Bad for the environment.
I’ve flown “home” once in the last two years, which is less than most people would, but still drastically increases my individual footprint, which is already in the “super-polluter” category just by being in the Western world.
And I’d rather commute by car 30 minutes each way than deal with 60+ minutes of bus each way for the same journey. If I could bike there in 15 minutes I’d do that, but I don’t have the same freedom to choose where to live and work now that I’m married and in a weird country.
I’m the owner/operator of a chemical-free lawn company, vermicomposting unused produce from area farms and selling the end product to local gardeners. Also, our family only eats meat and dairy on very rare occasions (once every 2-10 weeks). Also donate regularly to local conservation organizations and Farm Aid.
I have never owned a car and have driven less than a hundred miles in my entire life. The Big Crow hasn’t owned a car in about twenty years.
With the exception of underclothing, socks and shoes, 99% of everything I wear comes from thrift stores. I say 99% because I have a T-shirt I bought from Eddy Bauer a couple of years ago. Oh, and there’s a rain coat The Big Crow bought for me at the same time.
I’m pretty sure everything I own could fit in a standard sized van. If not, it’s pretty darned close. I’ve never seen the need for a lot of stuff.
I keep chemically cleaners down to a minimum and use less laundry detergent than recommended.
As a few others have mentioned, I am also childless by choice.
