I never met Masako Goto in person. But on the mailing list of which we were both members, she shared with honesty and wit her struggles with depression, blindness, and “vertical challenge.” She was bright and funny and quirky and sweet and curmudgeonly and adorable, and today we learned from one of her co-workers that this “young and lovely” person died suddenly last night. The sad messages of condolence and remembrance are pouring in.
If you like, please visit her Web site. Her amusing writing style reflects the wonderful person that she was, and if it doesn’t make you laugh at least once, then perhaps you need to find your heart.
Masako, your wit and wisdom will be sorely missed.
