In memory of Colibri (George Angehr)

Thank you @Ed_Zotti. I appreciate being able to make this contribution.

Thanks, Ed. I’ve just emailed you.

Oh, shoot. I wish I had read this before I contributed. I wrote only, “I will miss you, George. - Rae” Failed to mention the SDMB, and I’m really sorry about that.

Don’t worry, we got you. Susan too. Kate sends me a spreadsheet. Turns out she lives within walking distance of me in Chicago and works remote. Impressive total so far considering the donation page has only been up for a few hours. Thanks all!

Contact Ed and let him know. I think he can add your gift to the total.

Done. :slightly_smiling_face:

In memory of George Angehr (SDMB)

Done.

Done.

What awful news. I have been much less active lately - more a symptom of being extremely busy at work than dissatisfaction with the board - and I hadn’t interacted with Colibri/George for a long time. But I shall miss him nonetheless.

Done, thank you again, Ed!

$2,910 as of 10am Sat 12/11, less than 24 hours after the page went up. You guys rock.

Thanks @Ed_Zotti for setting this up.

Ed or others: I donated to STRI before this was set up. My acknowledgement email didn’t include my donation amount or an indication that this donation is tax-deductible. Is that what other people are seeing as well, or are you receiving something different? We looked at the STRI site but aren’t seeing anything to indicate whether it’s 501c3 or something else or nothing. Thanks.

Their charity tax ID is 53-0206027 — it’s a 501(c)(3).

Thank you.

Done!

Looks like we’re close to the goal of $5000. Last update has us at Contributed to date: $4,185

Added a bit more. Hope we can reach that goal.

Done. :v:t2:

Just FYI, George was also an advisor to this ambitious ecotourism-science research idea that was never fully realized (seems to have “peaked” about fifteen years ago), but could have a lasting impact, perhaps:
