This one has also said many racist things too, many of which (but not nearly all) have been noted in this thread.
No, it doesn’t mean that. However, nationalism is a form of bigotry, so it is still inherently wrong. It’s not the same thing as patriotism, or people would call it patriotism. Nationalism is the idea that your nation is more important than others. That is wrong.
And we know the kid is influenced by Trump because of his slogan. And Trump ran on racism, and courted the alt right, a white supremacist group. He couldn’t even unilaterally condemn Nazis, because there were “bad people on both sides”–in a situation where the Nazis ran people over and marched with guns, torches, and paramilitary gear, while chanting about the blood of Jews.
And, no, while people say “Muslims,” it’s always the brown ones wearing “funny clothing” they seem to care about. That’s racism disguised as religious bigotry–which is pretty bad when you hide one form of bigotry with another.
This is not a board where you’ll get away with trying to deny Trump’s obvious racism, or the emboldening effect his presidency has had on racists. Right now, we’re hearing mainstream Fox news talk about the “Deep State” and pushing the “anti-racist means anti-white” bullshit.
Nationalism may be a loaded word, with the wrong connotations for what I am trying to say. Perhaps I should have written “our country first”. That principle may be the best in some circumstances. And it probably appeals to racists. Would you not make a move you thought was best in a chess opening because it was considered best by a particular chess master, and you happen to consider that chess master racist?
I don’t think anyone believes we shouldn’t put our country and its affairs first. “Nationalism,” however, generally arises amongst people who think the country “belongs to them” and that they should be able to dictate who gets to live in it.
Is the word you’re looking for, “jingoism”?
If the chess master was actually a life-long loser who lied about his chess ranking, and his “best move” was shit talking his opponent about how black people are too dumb and lazy to be good chess players, then yeah, I would consider that loser and anyone who emulated him to be racists.
I like the plan of telling the racist band president candidate that candidates will be disqualified for racist behavior. It puts the onus on him to correct himself.
Trump is pro-America, but he defines “America” as being “white American men”.
Well, some nations are more important.
That is correct.
That statement is incorrect.
Racists are racists, and it doesn’t matter who is in the White House. The last flat-out, open racist in the White House was Lyndon Johnson. Obama’s racism was more subtle, but it was there nevertheless. Trump racist? Meh.
Only liberals can be racist, I suppose? Not the guy who said someone couldn’t be a good judge because he was “Mexican”, or who said the white supremacist marchers in Charlottesville included “good people”, or who spread a racist conspiracy theory with zero evidence about Obama for several years, or who continued to demand the execution of several black teenagers even after the evidence exonerated them…
He’ll still end up wining the electoral vote.
Or reportedly needs all non-white employees hidden from him whenever his visits his properties.
The President who did more for black rights since Lincoln?
Trump is pretty damn openly racist. He accepted the KKKs support.
Which, of course, is the primary reason we now have a whole bunch of racist white Republicans rather than a whole bunch of racist white Democrats.
Or tried to keep blacks from renting his properties?
No racism there.
Obama more racist than Trump. Care to back that up Clothahump?
Here, Clothahump, lemme help…
If Obama weren’t such a racist, he’d have chosen to be born in the U.S., instead of in Kenya.
Texas you say? I think it would be appropriate if you had a quiet conversation about race and respect with this kid and his dad clthmp.
Good god you are a fucking moron.
AND a gutless pussy coward, too.
The stated reason is demonstrably incorrect. Saudi Arabia, home to 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11: Not included. The countries that were included: No terrorist attacks have emanated from those places.
He is not capable of such things.
I wish you all would stop quoting the trolls I’ve long since sent to the cornfield. It harshes my zen.
