It is now 18.10 EDT on Saturday 7 October 2000. I have been awake for approximately 4.5 hours of this day. The rest of the time, I’ve spent sleeping, from 02.00-12.00 (a much needed night’s sleep), and then from 14.00-17.30 (a much needed nap).
Thank Jesus for sleep! After averaging 2-3 hours of sleep a night for the last couple of weeks, I finally broke down and took a couple of Benadryl capsules last night to see if it would help. It definitely helped! I slept 10 hours straight! Woohoo!
Sleep is the sweet and tasty nectar of the gods (up there with scotch) but I have been denied its delicious taste for too long (at least at the levels you enjoy).
As an overworked, underpaid high school student, I am not fully acquainted with this word you call “sleep”. Most people seem to catch up on it during the weekend, but I since I have too much to do and no time to do it in, must forgo this so called luxury to do what other people want me to do.
Monday night- Slept for four hours
Tuesday night- Slept for three hours
Wednesday night- Slept for one hour
Thursday night- Slept for four hours
Friday night- Slept for two hours
I’ve now been up for about four and a half hours now, and I feel great. Of course, a nice big dinner and a Super Big Gulp Coke have been consumed since then. Ahh… long weekends.
I’m a notorious sleeper on weekends, and this is the only weekend in a while that I’ve been able to sleep in. As I don’t get as much sleep as I need during the week, days like today are very appreciated.
The only downside of all this? I missed chatting with Anniz this afternoon. Sorry…
Thank you, Montfort. At least someone is sleeping, 'cause it sure ain’t me! Well, at least not very well.
One of my dogs sleeps under the bed (it’s high off the floor) right under me, twitching and doing the doggy dream whimper many times each night. And lately he’s started snoring.
The pain pills they put me on nearly knock me out at the end of the day. I come home from school and two doses, and fall asleep before it’s time for the third dose. I love sleep and all, but I hate waking up in pain. Damned side effects.
I wish I could sleep right now but I can’t for the same reason as ssskuggiii.
It sucks too because we are having a first really good cold spell come in which makes it really good sleeping weather. Thank goodness though I get to sleep in with no interruptions.
I was on the same schedule for sleep yesterday, that is, sleeping in 'til 1 in the afternoon, but today, after staying up past 4 in the blessed morning, I’ve been up and hitting golf balls off the back stoop for a few hours already. How do you go from sleeping 10 hours one night to about 5 hours the next?
I’ve just woken up from a 12 noon - 8 pm sleep. It’s the first such sleep I’ve had in months–an a attempt to rectify the three-hour sleep I had on Friday night.
Ever noticed the bizarre dreams you get during a daytime snooze? Among the things I dreamed of during the last nine hours were:
Non-existent rivers
A Supertrain
Tony Blair with a Milosevic haircut
The world runs out of tea!
World War III (and nobody died, strangely enough)
