In Subway recently

Someone ordered the following:

Spinach
Tomato
Green Peppers
Avocado
Jalepenos

w/sweet onion sauce on regular italian bread. Is there any way it was good?

What kind of meat did they get? The vegetables sounded fine - but when you said sweet onion sauce …

No meat.

Sounds fine to me. What’s wrong with it?

Sounds good to me. I order vegan sandwiches from Subway and get some variation of that, usually without jalapenos, but sometimes with banana peppers. Extra tomatoes.

As it turns out, sandwiches don’t actually have to have meat on them.

I’m not a 'cado fan. Plus the combo didn’t sound like it went together, especially with the sauce.

Sounds great to me.

I’m not a vegetarian by any means, but I love ordering vegetarian pizza. Usually it’s stuff like:

Tomatoes
Mushrooms
Onions
Olives
Green peppers
Hot peppers

What’s not to love about that?

I would switch out the tomato for cucumbers and the avacodo for extra jalepeno’s (4, Subway? Really?), but that doesn’t sound like a bad light lunch.

Bet they combo’d it with a regular Lay’s chip (the salty, greasy kind) and a large Coke.

Leaffan-I love veggie pizza! I’d switch out the olives, and no hots, but that sounds good.

No, a water and apple. (If I drank Diet Coke, I’d do that at Mcdonalds)

My husband enjoys Subway sandwiches with no meat, but he really piles on the vegetables. It’s thinking of pickles and peppers and olives with sweet onion sauce that doesn’t sound good to me.

I eat everything plain. Mayonnaise is very adventurous for me, so not much on it sounds good.

Really? I’ve never gotten the sweet onion sauce as I’m a sucker for anything with honey and mustard in the name but just imagining the taste of sweet onions in liquid form, I would eat that with so much pickles and peppers and olives. A little spicy, a little sweet, a little sour and a little crunchy. Mmm-mmm.

Now I want a sandwich.

I’d eat it. My regular is a footlong veggie, bread and cheese subject to whim, ranch dressing & a touch of spicy mustard with everything except pickles. +oil & vinegar + pepper.

Mmm. Subway.

I wouldn’t do it at Subway since their bread is gross but take me somewhere with decent bread and I’d eat that.

Only thing I’d balk at is the green pepper. Green peppers fuck up anything they touch.

Not without olives!

But yeah, if you don’t like avocado you won’t like that sandwich. It’s similar to what I pile on a Subway turkey sandwich. I usually include the turkey for more protein, which keeps me full longer, but that veggie combination sounds lovely to me.

That’s basically what I get at Subway except lose the Avocado and add some meat, onion, and olives. I’m sure it tasted fine, but I probably would have added cucumbers in there.

Sounds fine to me.

I wouldn’t order it, but I would certainly eat it. Sounds fine, and I really like the sweet onion sauce.
