In Treatment - Season 3

Anyone watching? It’s so gripping for being almost entirely serious dialog. I’m not crazy about the kid, Jesse, but the actor is really good and why I don’t like him is because he is so real and like people in real live I’m not crazy about.

It’s nice seeing Debra Winger again. Amy Ryan is excellent too and I like her character.

There’s neither an adolescent girl to feel protective of or a hot chick to swoon over, so I bailed on this season after watching the first minute or two of the teenager. He’s gay, right?

While actually watching the first two seasons, Melissa George (Laura) held my attention the most. (I like Hope Davis a lot but found her sessions wanting.) But now after a year or two what most sticks with me is my heart breaking for Mia Wasikowski (girl with the broken arms) and Alison Pill. (The cancer chick.) I just don’t see that kind of potential with this cast so I decided to take a pass.

We’ve watched every season and enjoyed it. This season seems like more of the same, in a good way. The teenaged gay kid is annoying, but he’s supposed to be. I like Paul’s new therapist so far (we just finished week 1). Sunil is probably my favorite character so far.

Couldn’t agree more with everything here.

I loved watching the previews for it because the moment I saw the boy I said “yup, he’s gay”. It also struck me that this is the first gay character they have had. I also hate this kid with a passion and really wish he would calm the hell down.

Sunil has my attention the most. I think his story is going to end up being gripping as all hell, plus he does a very good job of acting too.

I’m kinda “meh” about the actress chick, we’ll have to see.
The best “In Treatment” story I have is that I only started watching once the second season hit and I was immediately addicted. I never saw the first season until just now when HBO had it on demand (to prep us for the third season) so I was starting to watch it more. I had my then girlfriend over one time and I stumbled upon it, and Laura was talking about a scene with her boyfriend. My girlfriend asks “Are they gonna show it, or what?” I had to tell her that no…the show was just them sitting and talking. She had a “oh..that’s probably boring” look about it and we went on about our night. Fast forward a couple days from them and she brings me dinner while I am watching an episode. The entire time she and I are eating her eyes are just fixed on the TV, soaking in every word that Paul and Mia are saying, at the end of the episode she said “Yeah it’s a lot better than I thought it would be”.
