In what ways are you still just a kid?

Fireflies. When I see fireflies at dusk, I apparently get a “thrilled-little-kid-who-wants-to_collect-them” look on my face. I love them.

I love Halloween. Making costumes and seeing what people come up with is the best! (It is not fun when people buy a costume and just wear it.)

I still use “logic” to prove that cookies are a good breakfast food choice.

Me, too! My excuse is that I was ripped from my native homelan and taken bodily to Florida at a young age, and now have to make up for the missed snowfalls.

Work has been stressful since my boss abruptly quit a month ago. I now own several spiffy new coloring books and a collection of those fancy twist up crayons and color pencils. And none of those grown up coloring books, mine all have cartoon characters in 'em.

I still at least snicker when someone says something that can be twisted into something dirty, and sometimes I laugh until I lose my breath.

I sing to the radio, in my car. Badly. And I change the lyrics to make them dirty.

I get excited when I see wildlife: deer, coyotes, hawks, foxes, armadillos…

I play yellow car all by myself. Wait, that might just be sad, not childlike.

Fart and dick jokes still kill. But in Dung Beetle’s and my defense, the oldest recorded joke is a fart joke.

Especially oatmeal cookies.

Still love flying on airplanes.

Blueberry pie is packed with anti-oxidants!

I still crouch down and talk to frogs and toads; especially toads 'cause they have the cutest feetses. I’m 5 again when I see a patch of Lily of the Valley and smell lilacs. I’m an unrepetent Crayola sniffer at 66.5 years. If I could get away with it, I’d still go on the pony ride at the Fair.

Mine are more from my teen years (70’s).

Feeling the wind blow while listening to the roar of a big block V8 beneath my foot. I still go to a lot of trouble for this experience (I’m 59). It never gets old.

I know there are a lot of lighter, better, and even more powerful small engines available now. But nothing can replace the sound of big Detroit iron for me.

I also talk to toads. I sing to the neighbors dogs.

This was GREAT! I laughed for two minutes. It is SO right on! Thanks GargoyleWB, for a wonderful reminder of how to have simple fun.

Me too. I never got the hang of standing up on a surfboard, but body surfing (or attempting to body surf) and boogie boarding top my list when it comes to pure fun and joy.

I still like jigsaw puzzles and Legos and board games - and getting down on the floor to play. I’m looking forward to my first grandchild so I can regress.

Bicycles - plain and simple (but now I can afford them a little better).

As a kid, I spent countless hours ramping dirt jumps in front of the house and bumming rides to the skate park. Now I can drive myself. I still ride a 20" freestyle and I’m almost 30. I’m hoping to start BMX racing again next summer. I ride trails most weekends and pull my children in a trailer behind my road bike. You’re never too old for a bicycle.

Time you get to be my age, you don’t HAVE to grow up.

I’m about to turn 44, but I still love my birthday. I get secretly excited about my entire birthday month (September). The 30-day countdown starts in late August, and as the date approaches I’ll have moments of thinking “two weeks till my birthday!” “just one week until my birthday!” etc. Waking up on my birthday is second only to waking up on Christmas, and I feel special all day (even if no one else knows its my birthday). I also get a little thrill whenever I hear my birth date mentioned randomly, like in a commercial when a sale happens to end on my birthday. Oddly enough, though, I really don’t care whether anyone acknowledges it or whether I go out and celebrate.

And I still like to jump in puddles.

At home (never at work or in public; fear not), I hum little songs I make up on the spot.

I skip stones whenever possible. Oh, and I’m awesome at it.

Also, when hanging around with my dearest friends in the world I would much rather be playing a game of sort than just talking.

On the other hand, roller coasters just don’t do as much for me as they used to :frowning:

I just bought a coloring book for adults. It’s wonderfully relaxing.

I think it’d be better to ask about ways I’m not still a kid!

  • I have the food tastes of a 12-year-old (with a few weird exceptions, like I love cauliflower and oysters (not together!))
  • My standard outfit is jeans, T-shirt, and athletic shoes
  • I still play video games, pen-and-paper roleplaying games, and love superhero movies.
  • I still read comic books.
  • I love playing with cats of all varieties, and some puppies
  • I feel uncomfortable around “real grown-ups” who don’t share my geeky hobbies.
  • I still have a number of stuffed animals.
  • I eat way too much candy.
