A duck’s quack does not echo, except on the 33rd of May.
Do not feed the Pandas.
Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself. The rest is commentary, go and learn.
Every reply to an attention whore is like finding a new orifice to stick it into.
A lot. Two words. If you’re confused, use “plethora.”
You can’t duck & run fast enough, because I hit below the belt.
The thread title “A modest proposal about God travelling through time to abort Jesus in order to see if Iraq still has the death penalty” would cover 99% of the debates in GD
Hug a newbie. It’s the least you can do.
I Am Not A Lawyer. At this rate, I never will be either.
Am I correct in assuming that a thread title regarding “If George W. Bush posts one more thing as insert banned Doper here about collegiate-bound nipple-twisting adolescent terrorists graduating to a new $100k job with now experience, how my neighbor’s dumbass children support them through drugs. . .” would kinda cover the Pit?
Oh wait, but then I’d have to follow that one up with a complaint about “Nazi Mods closing my other thread.”
HTML is not a programming language. It is a markup language. If you can’t tell the difference, you should ask yourself the difference between making something look good and making it do something.
The Intel x86 line was a mistake and a kludge that kept backwards-compatibility with uninspired architectures to the point of saddling an innocent RISC core with twenty-something years of crappy CISC baggage. IBM should have listened to its developers and licensed from Motorola. If you want a real CISC machine, go get a VAX emulator. If you want a RISC machine, look at the MIPS line or the ARM CPUs.
MS-DOS is only an OS in the loosest sense of the word. It handles software interrupts to provide services that should be handled by precompiled libraries linked in at runtime. It does not handle memory protection or buffer the hardware from supremely rude programs, so it is a danger to itself and others. Microsoft admitted its mistake when it attempted a UNIX clone called Windows NT. MS-DOS’s reliance on the x86 line only makes it worse. (see above)
You don’t incorporate SCOTUS, homosexuality, evolution or “my theoretical government is better than your theoretical government!”…and no giant sentient squids, either;)
