Then you need to be more judicious about the threads you read. There are still a lot of freakin’ hilarious threads out there. I’m sorry the ones you’ve come across lately have been so full of vitriol, but that’s the way the Dope smokes, y’know. Some threads are fun, some are sad, some are pissy, some are even too pointless to read. We’ve got something for everyone!

It was an ugly episode involving the well known **Liberal ** and not so well known pseudotriton ruber ruber. **Liberal ** paid PRR $500 to go away. This lead to a several series of pit threads. It was ugly. Did I mention it was very ugly?

But more of an example of the type of behavior that I don’t like is that of Queuing from the same game. I really thought his behavior was just playing a role, but he was genuinely being a dick at the end.
As far as the rest of you well-wishers, thanks for the …erm…well wishes? I’ll still stop in and lurk now and again. Maybe if things calm down at work and I get a little more idle interent time … who knows?

I do know how tou feel.
I let my charter membership pass*, with an off hand comment in some thread and then just stayed away.
It was not withdrawal that got me back. It’s just that this is the place where I can interact about Buffy, Highsmith, American Idol, Eco, Stan Lee, Süsskind, LZ and ask stupid questions (in GQ) about stuff I don’t get.
All in all, finding someone who enjoys Pterry and AI in one place makes all the problems mentioned in your OP… less important.
I got back, and while the things that bugged me, and continue to bug me, are stll here, the cost-benefit ratio will make me pay next year too, should the new management decide to foot the bill.
Maybe we can even get a semi-new version of vB.
