According to the press conference, Biden and Trudeau will talk on Friday. I believe that there are enough pipelines in Canada and the u.s. that we don’t need another one to go over the ogallala aquifer.
Yes, I heard that. Trudeau was, incidentally, the one who changed the name of the Department of the Environment to “Environment and Climate Change”. His “opposition” to the pipeline is just opportunistic political pandering, and rather disappointing.
I also heard that President Biden’s first phone call to a foreign leader will be to Trudeau on Friday. I hope that one of the outcomes of the conversation is an invitation to President Biden to make Canada his first foreign visit, and that Biden accepts, as Obama did.
As a personal aside: Prior to the coming of COVID, I would meet up every few months with a bunch of guys I’ve known since Jr. High. We’re a diverse group and on one occasion we were meeting for lunch at a bar/restaurant place. Three of us arrived at the same time and walked in together from the parking lot. All of a sudden I start laughing and one of the other guys says, "What’s so funny?’ I reply, “A white guy, a black guy and a Puerto Rican walk into a bar…and it’s us.”
I’m watching an ABC news panel on the Roku Channel ta - lking about today, and Chris Christie is on it. Huh? Has he been rehabilitated into the mainstream?
Anyone watching the Tom Hanks Show? It’s really good. Biden is speaking again. He must be exhausted. I’m exhausted, and I haven’t left the house today.
It’ll be interesting to see Fox now that their ratings have tanked. There was a moment when they at least seemed to be doing the right thing in terms of their news coverage, but today they basically gutted some of the political news side execs and they’ll probably fire more. I suspect that they will rapidly give up even pretending to be a news organization and follow Newsmax and OANN into the gutter. Trump might not have the brains or acumen to build his own network but he could really pound Murdoch in the balls if he were to sign a contract with Newsmax (which I suspect he’ll do anyway).
I wonder how long Bret Baier and Chris Wallace remain with the network, especially since the news division got blatantly called out by Shep Smith yesterday.
The amount of commercials in this Celebriting America shit is absurd. It feels like 70% commercials. Which feels symbolic of… something… and it’s not good. “Okay, America, it’s back to normal, forget about all this nonsense and go back to serving our corporate overlords. Buy buy buy!”
