I’ve had search results that didn’t return all the threads in the specified period, and then when I lengthen the period they appear. Any idea what’s going on?
The search function is based on local SDMB server time. The time you see is local server time plus your time adjusment. For example, my time right now is 5:54 PM EDT, but the server time is 4:54 CDT. So, any posts I search for that are between 11 PM and 12AM server time won’t show up on a search for that day, because my time is an hour later the next day.
But that doesn’t explain why a post from four days ago doesn’t show up on a search of last week’s threads.
Hmmm…no it doesn’t. I dunno then, blame the hamsters. It’s what the rest of us do.
