Inconsiderate BBC! (Footie and Valentines Day)

Ah, so here we are again… February 14, St Valentine’s Day.

A time to spend with your special someone. Especially if, like me, it’s the first Valentine’s Day since you’ve been married.

All is set: wine, candles, soft music, homecooked meal.

And what does the BBC do?

Decides to screen Arsenal vs Bolton in a fourth-round FA cup replay. :smack:

This will be a cracking game - fourth- and fifth-place in the league, both teams need a trophy this season, and there’s a history between them that guarantees fireworks.

This is a true dilemma:

  1. miss what could be one of the games of the season
  2. annoy the missus in a spectacular fashion by spending Valentine’s Day watching footie.

(The missus wins every time… what kind of husband would I be otherwise… but dammit it’s going to be hard to resist putting the TV on for a “quick check of the score, darling”).

Gah!

If she really loved you, she’d understand.

If only there was some sort of device capable of recording broadcast television signals for later review.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Just aint the same with live sport… anyway, later this evening is set aside for (ahem) “other activities”, as it were.

Why is this the BBC’s fault and not the FA’s? It’s the FA that schedules FA Cup matches, y’know.

So it comes down to what balls you want to see played with, doesn’t it?
