Incredible double at California State Track Meet.

German Fernandez of Riverbank High dominates the 1600 and 3200 meter runs just 2 hours apart.

His time for the 1600 was 4:00.27 (equal to a 4:01.67 mile), placing him 2nd on the all time California list. His winning margin was over 9 seconds.

He then ran the 3200 in 8:34.25(equal to 8:37.4 2 mile) less than 1 second off the national record of 8:33.4(converted from full 2 mile time of 8:36.3) Winning margin in this race was almost 24 seconds.

Congrats to German.

We have a senior in one of our local high schools who shattered the national HS record for shotput this year. I think it was 71+ feet. He’s 6’4" and about 250, as I understand it. His closest local competitor threw about 45’.
