Sort of an updated The Jewel in the Crown, with more than a dash of Downton Abbey. I’m looking forward to it. Anyone else?
I watched it when it aired in the UK (on Channel Four). It’s very uneven and will frustrate you sometimes - the casting choices are really odd at times - but it’s watchable, at least. It did fairly well and a second season is in the works.
This is the one with the “Parsee” family played by so hilariously non Parsee actors?
Yup. That’s one of the examples of bad casting. It wouldn’t matter if race weren’t a really important theme in the show.
Wow, that was not good at all. Overall just bad writing. Maybe it gets better…
