So Harrison Ford breathed life into the character. Okay. Now, if someone could just breathe some life into Harrison Ford.
I realize that it’ll never happen, but I have a great idea for the plot of the flick. Indy and Marion are hitched and on a dig in South America in the early 1960s. Indy catches a shortwave broadcast covering the Cuban Missile Crisis. Indy, worried that JFK has become drunk with power because of the Ark of the Covenant, decides that he must find where the Ark is, and hide it some place where no one will find it for hundreds, if not thousands of years. So he and Marion head off to find where the Ark is hidden, manage to steal it by the skin of their teeth, and then head off to some remote part of the world to hide the thing with CIA and KGB agents in hot pursuit.
(For a fun “twist,” the final hiding place of the Ark can be the island where Christopher Lee’s hideout in The Man with the Golden Gun was. ;))
