There are plenty of well-known Norse artifacts, from Brisingamen to Mjolnir. An interesting choice would be the sword Tyrfing which has to take a life every time it is drawn. For a modern take, try the gold ring Draupnir which multiplies itself.
See? This is one of the main reasons I can’t hate Crystal Skull the way so many people hate it. I loved that her character was brought back and loved that she came back as an actress to reprise the role. I loved every moment that she was on screen.
One of the reasons Raiders of the Lost Ark is so good is that the relationship between the hero and “the girl” is both believable and complex- something lacking from both Temple and Last Crusade. Allen helped to create a great character in Raiders and it was great to see that character return.
The character she played in Crystal Skull had no resemblance to her character in Raiders.
In Raiders, she was feisty, plucky, smart.
In Crystal Skull, she was just… there.
We had a female protagonist in Crystal Skull. The Marion from Raiders would have eaten her alive!
In short, Crystal Skull was just a lousy movie all around.
It involves a trip to Mecca. He’s at the Kaaba with a million other guys. When they all put their heads down to pray, he jumps up and ducks behind the covering, and feels around until he finds a door. Hilarity ensues.

It may not have been the greatest movie in the world, but Ford played “Old Badass Guy” pretty well in Cowboys v. Aliens. So perhaps old Indy could still carry a good movie.
I haven’t seen Cowboys vs Aliens yet. Other than old badass Ford, is it at all worth renting?
Olivia Wilde is her usual eyelicious self, but I though the movie overall was idiotic.

Not sure how I feel. I hope they aren’t trying to find an actor who looks like Harrison Ford.
I remember back in 2005 when James Bond was being rebooted and all the bad press that Daniel Craig received. He is easily the best Bond, towering over Connery, even.
I think they need to find a story, develop a character, then cast. Don’t try to mimic Ford.
Anyway, should be interesting to see it develop.

I say if you’re going to reboot the series, you go darker, but with black humor. I saw do “Indiana Jones in Castle Wolfenstein”, with mutated Nazi monsters and all the rest.
Who to star? My choice would be Jensen Ackles from ‘Supernatural’. I think he could totally pull off Indy.

Or, alternatively, Indy could’ve used both eyes to look forward. In fact, even with one eye he’d see the bridge as he approached.
(But TBH, I was blown away by that scene and the rest of that movie as a kid. It just doesn’t stand up well to thinking about it.)
