Indy Dopers! Need travel advice

I’m coming into Indy tomorrow night for GenCon, and I’ve heard they’re ripping the guts out of the interstates around the city. I’ll be heading in on I-74, and I was curious if there are any detours/generally screwy things I need to watch out for. Thanks for any help.

Hyperfix is done. You’ll be fine, except for a couple of ramps on the south end of the “Inner Loop.” Where are you headed when you come into town?

Yup. HyperFix is HyperDone. 30 days ahead of schedule, too!

Regardless, coming from the west you’ll be fine. All the construction was taking place just east of the city.

Holiday Inn on Victory, then the convention center.

Thanks for the help, gang!

Flypsyde, what’d you think of GenCon? It was the first one I’d been to, and I had a blast.

Daniel

It was much better than past years, in my opinion. MECCA (the convention center in Milwaukee which hosted the con previously) was too small and labrynthine for my tastes, and often folks would be out in the halls on the floors playing games, making it incredibly hard to walk around the con without stomping on them. The Indy Convention Center was much larger, so getting around was not a problem. The concession stands were everywhere, and while the prices were as high as I expected, I never had to wait more than, say, 4 minutes for my order.

Overall, this was the best one I’ve been to. I’m looking forward to it next year.
