I was slain. But it was for the good of the universe, so I can’t feel too badly. Wouldn’t want to come off as selfish.
As did I. Rather it be me than the pilot of the airplane I am in.
This is another reason you know there will be a reset. Not just because sequels have been planned, so characters will have to be rezzed, but because half the earth has been wiped out. (Not to mention all the Xandarians, Kree, etc.) Are the phase four movies going to take place on a ravaged post apocalyptic universe? (What we saw hints of in the post credits scene.) No they are not. Everyone is coming back, not just the heroes, but the 3.5 billion dusted humans.
I think the only movies we are getting between this and the next Avengers and Ant Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel, both take place before infinity war.
I would bet heavily that Ant Man and The Wasp will have a post credits scene that ties into the Avengers, like they’ll be looking at a TV showing a report on the big donut over NYC.
As well as Captain Marvel movie ending with her getting a page.
From the pager she will give Nick Fury in real time in the 90’s with some instructions about when it can be invoked to grab her from whatever alternate place/time she is relative to the Infinity War timestream today.
Anyone want to write a filk song in the style of Jim Carroll commemorating all the people who died in this movie?
I’m thinking the post credit scene will be dust city for half of the title characters. Which half? Who can say?
Bucky’s arm isn’t super-powered, Bucky himself is super-powered, apparently to the same level as Captain America. Remember that none of the other Winter Soldiers had metal limbs and were considered as much a threat as he was.
The metal arm has the benefit of being a metal arm, more resistant to damage and better able to deliver force. The surprise was that Shuri didn’t appear to upgrade it at all, even though it was WW2 technology. I figured it would now be vibranium, at least.
I think the post-credit will be family dinner with Hank, Jan, Scott and Hope…Hank and Jan will ash out.
I was dusted on my phone and survived on my iPad. So obviously someone is playing around with the time and/or reality stone.
Who’s to say she didn’t? I mean, unless you’re Inspector Gadget, your metal arm is going to look a lot like other metal arms. We don’t get much of a chance to see his prosthetic in action, since the fight scenes are so scattered amongst everyone, but he could have a Super Shuri Stump Strengthener hanging on his shoulder.
He is literally a Russian Captain America knock off, probably slightly less powerful but makes up for it with the metal arm.
Heh.
Strange saving Stark can be interpreted three ways.
Stark was key to the winning scenario. (Why didn’t he tell Stark that, I know, drama). This is the likely scenario.
Stark wasn’t necessarily key to the winning scenario, but Thanos obtaining all the stones was.
Stark wasn’t necessarily key to the winning scenario, but Strange reckoned it was inevitable that Thanos would get his Time Stone.
In the latter two scenarios, Strange thought losing the Time Stone was inevitable, and he’d rather lose the Time Stone and have Stark alive rather than lose the Time Stone and have Stark dead.
As far as Thanos obtaining all the stones being key to the winning scenario, did you see the Gauntlet after Thanos culled half the universe? It looked pretty spent. Maybe now it is not as powerful and it took him using it in that manner to make it weak enough to combat him.
Or, utter compassion. You can, in the comfort of your home, say (think) you’ll let someone die for the greater good, but when that proposition is imminent, you’ll necessarily have different thoughts.
So Thor and Dr. Strange are key characters in this movie, and both had recent standalone films. Which led me to wonder: What happens to Thanos if Dormammu and/or Thor’s sister are not defeated?
Thor’s new axe easily defeated the power of the fully functional Gauntlet. Pretty sure Thanos shouldn’t have left it behind when he gated out.
The head makes more sense. It’s targeted more easily than the hand, and Thor’s axe to the head leaves Thanos without the capacity for thought. And he did say head…he knew.
