Infinity war 'seen it' thread (spoilers)

From a certain point of view.

Saw it.

Wow, that was great. I can’t believe they pulled that off. It was fun, funny, beautiful, and just about everybody got their big part in the movie. I loved it.

Very surprised how well they did with this one. Easily the best Avengers movie.

So what is Doctor Strange’s plan? He obviously would not have given the stone to him if he had no plan.

Just want to say i dig this theory. Is preciense in Heimdall’s skill set?

This movie has made over $1 billion in 11 days. Is this movie going to maintain its mojo and be the first $2 billion movie? Is Avengers 4 going to beat whatever records this movie makes?

Actually, there are already 3 $2+ billion movies: The Force Awakens and a couple of films by James Cameron.

I have no idea, but with a time stone in play it might not matter. One of Strange’s 14 million rolls could’ve required changing the opening moves to set up a different endgame. AIUI, that’s something Strange would normally be reluctant to do, but now…

Just got home from seeing this, haven’t read any opinions on the movie and apart from some dick on this board stating in a thread title that 50% of all people got toasted, I went into the movie pretty blind.

My initial impression is a big fat “meh”. I suspected I wouldn’t care about any big orcs versus heroes battle in a field and I was right about that. I suspected there would be far too many superheros and goddamn was I right about that. And I suspected that I wouldn’t care if anybody died because I don’t believe they will stay dead, and yep, I didn’t much care when anybody died.

The “too many heroes” thing is the biggest problem, there was simply no reason for the vast majority of them to be there, especially the group who went to Wakanda.

I’m not even mad at the movie, it was just a big old “meh” that did nothing I haven’t seen before and its attempt at spectacle did nothing for me.

This may be a silly question with a simple answer, but how do Thor/Rocket not only find Wakanda, but get there so fast?

So…Infinity War will be the first good movie to top $2 billion. :stuck_out_tongue:

So, if the people who got dusted are coming back, do you figure the people who died because the wrong person got dusted at the wrong time are staying dead? For example, a flight that had both its pilots and half its passengers dusted, and therefore crashed.

Good point. It’s not just a bunch of superheroes that suddenly ceased to exist, the same thing happened to over 3 billion regular people on Earth. Unless it’s undone (say via time travel so it never actually happens) that alone would basically make it impossible to set any future movies on an Earth that’s recognizable as our own.

And to that, Strange had the timestone, and so could have just gone back in time and headed Thanos off before he got any stones. I am sure there is a reason other than that the writers didn’t think about it.

I’d assume that it gets reset to before, one way or the other, but even if not, it is not as if earth has not endured some pretty terrible calamities in the MCU already. Would we also be resurrecting wakandans killed on the battlefield, if so, even back to the beginning of the movie with Loki, Hiemdal, and the rest of the asgardians?

Guess: When you summon a Bifrost bridge, you can decide where to go and that “somewhere” can be as simple as “To Thanos”, same as Heimdall used the Bifrost to shoot Banner directly to Dr Strange despite having never been to New York or met Strange.

Though Heimdall does have the advantage that he never has had to have been to New York, nor have had Strange meet him, in order to know all about them.

True that. But Thor does know who Thanos is and is aware of Earth so it still seems plausible enough to me.

And he didn’t even have to focus in on Thanos. He could have been focusing on any of his allies that he knew.

Do we know how far the Time Stone lets Doc travel back in time?

If it tops out somewhere around “six minutes” or “an hour”, then, granted, it’d still be incredibly useful; but it wouldn’t necessarily be the big gun you’re hinting at.

Can Thor summon the Bifrost by himself or is that a ‘new’ power from Stormbreaker?

Peter Dinklage mentions that it’s possible using Stormbreaker.
