Does anyone here have information about Behcet’s Syndrome? I’ve done some preliminary research and haven’t been able to find the answer to some key questions: How is it diagnosed? How is it treated? What is the prognosis for someone who has it?
Any insight or info about this disease would be much appreciated. Thanks.

My god, but these website contradict each other! One says it’s not genetic, another says it is and occurs in certain ethnic groups. They all have different standards for diagnosis, some of which I meet and some of which I do not. According to that website, I have Behcet’s Syndrome based on International Study Group criteria. However, my gastroenterologist said that without the ocular inflammation, he couldn’t diagnose it as Behcet’s. One of the websites says Behcet’s sufferers get bruise-like lesions on the legs and torso, which I don’t have, but another says adult acne qualifies as a symptom, which I do have.
Bottom line seems to be that this syndrome is tough to diagnose and not everyone agrees on how that’s done. It would be great to find something that ties together all the strange symptoms I’m having.
If anyone who has it could share some insight with me on the progress of the disease, I’d appreciate that.
