Medical/Dermatology Question

Hello All, First time poster here with a medical question that I believe might be for a Dermatologist, Or maybe just General Medicine. For the past few months I’ve had some severe skin irritation, treated by my local doctor, with no luck. To explain It occurs now mostly on my forearms and legs lately, Mostly little red bumps that are always irritated and itchy. When it first occured about 2 and a half months ago it was all over me, down my back on my chest and my arms…one bumps for at least every 2 square inches. When I went to the doc they first believed it could be scabies, after that was ruled out a series of blood test performed by the local hospital returned info. that it might be a liver problem(They discussed something of blood filtering, etc…causing my problem.) AFter a trip to the gastronauligist(spelling?) He told me from the ultrasound and blood testing…my liver function appeared to be normal and healthy. So now my doc seems to have no lcue as to what the condition is or whats causing it…I should note allergy testing was also done with my bloodwork.
My condition now stands as bumps on my arms and legs, spaced out every few inches all around the diamater of em. They itch badly and although i try to restrain myself the bumps break open and bleed, then scar…Right now my arms dont look extremely frightening…although at times they can get to a point that starts to worry me. So I keep the neosporin on them all the time…trying to avoid infection.
So my question is Are there any dermatologists/doctors that may be able to help me? I may not have given all the information needed here…not sure what all is needed to diagnose the situation. I understand nobody’s legally my doctor and nothing is implied here…just looking for some general information…Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again

You need to go see a real, in person dermatologist and have a biopsy done.

Well, I am just a patient, not a doctor, but it sounds an awful lot like eczema to me. ITry googling for pics…'m not sure why your doctor wouldn’t have suggested it. It can be caused by food allergy, or allergic contact dermatitis–like reaction to a new fabric or soap you’re using, or have no known cause. (I have gotten it from certain medications and also from touching certain fabrics and chemicals.) As far as I know, blood testing isn’t the standard way to test for allergies… typically, one would get skin prick testing to diagnose them.

The standard treatment for eczema is a steroid cream like hydrocortisone. Newer therapies (non-steroidal) have been associated with skin cancer, so I’d recommend using the steroids first. And I would stop putting neosporin all over your skin—it’s really not intended for that purpose, and could be making the condition even worse! I would avoid getting soap and shampoo on your affected skin until it heals.

Why do you recommend that a biopsy be done? :o

I imagine she meant a skin check. (My mind is clouding on what the correct word is.)

Sorry, I have no idea how I put an "embarrassed smiley there. Please ignore it.

This really isn’t a medical question board. While we sometimes allow general questions, specific real-life questions are discouraged. Sorry.
