I’m a Borders Rewards member, so I get their emails on occasion. This morning it had a link to this live performance by Ingrid Michaelson.
Pretty pretty.
Sounds like she was “discovered” on the internet. Anyone have her cd?
Without clicking (I can’t from work anyway – no speakers) I’ll assume she was singing “The Way I Am”. Easily her best, most catchy tune from the album.
I liked “Die Alone” (second best tune or maybe tied), “December Baby” and “The Hat”. There might be one or two other tracks. The rest doesn’t grab me although it’s all decent enough. I’m a fan of the genre though. My wife really likes “Breakable” although the lyrics make me cringe a little with their, well, cheesiness.
Wikipedia says she’s self-released so that’d explain the internet thing.
She also got a lot of attention for that song from the Old Navy (?) sweater ad from the Fall.
Well, my mistake. I clicked the link just to see if it mentioned the song name and apparently there’s a whole buncha tunes from her. That’s probably enough on its own to give you a solid feel for the album. the rest of it isn’t much different from the stuff shown on the website.
