I just noticed my bud cans may or may not have a dot of blue or green.
Anyone else notice this?
Any idea what it means?
I’ve worked in packaging beer, and it probably doesn’t mean anything. It may signify the manufacturer of the can bottom, or something similarly insignificant.
Can (vs. bottles) have much longer shelf lives, so it’s probably not related to expiration date. It might show the brewery in which it was produced, but like I said, nothing too important.
It seems they have many machines that paint the cans, since the bottoms don’t get painted they use the dots as quality control. Makes sense to me.
I’ll bet that guy is glad I called to ask.
OK.
It’s common to see something similar (grid patterns & boxes of various colors) printed on the inside bottoms of paperboard boxes for items.
